Amigurumi Cas doll~ Castiel Supernatural

Castiel Angel

I of Course , am a Fan.  so i had to make this Doll Happen. I thought it would take me a lot longer but  a little over a week and he is what you see now 🙂

He was a lot of fun. No pattern to go by, I just went off pictures as i like to do  for Inspiration.   🙂

Castiel

this little picture helped me make the Face 🙂

I made the Eyes out of  Thread , and sewed them to the head.

The Hair I Latched on and then gave him a hair cut.   That Part was a lot of fun 🙂

Castiel

The wings i used the Pattern i had for my Angel, i changed only a few things including a wire to hold the wings in place.

I don’t Suggest you use wire if a child will have it. Pipe Cleaners would work. But i thought of this After i did it.

As, well as thinking i should have made the jacket to where the wings could come out. I think that would have encouraged me  to create different wings. 009

This is the side that will be against The Doll.  I ran the wire across the top and bent it. I buckled the sc V part of the wing and sewed it together. then used that to sew to jacket. I think it helped hold the shape better. I like his tie and Belt but the Face i love the most 🙂

Cast

I think  he liked the work i was doing. He was Kicked back just watching 🙂

Castiel

I like how his hair came out 🙂

Castiel

So i will close this Yarnicle And say  Enjoy the angel in the light Picture. I think i have more fun with the Picture Taking then  i should  lol 🙂 see ya soon  on my Next Yarnicle.

pattern is Here !!  look below  not fully tested so if you see a problem let me know.

Amigurumi Hippo doll

Amigurumi Hippo Doll

Gloria

Gloria , is her name 🙂

I found my self asked to make a Hippo for a friend, so i went looking didn’t find too many i really liked, the ones i did like had no pattern to work.

So looking threw pictures i set off to make this hippo come alive to share with others 🙂

To work this hippo you will need to know the Magic ring, and  sc2tog.

Also i crocheted the skirt on to the body, If you prefer another way then do that.

With the eyes i crocheted them , If you prefer plastic eyes then do that.

Lastly i made the skirt and socks simple, If you prefer a different st then do that.

As for the details on Hippo, do  any thing else you would like to do 🙂

Shoe Laces

(string a piece of white yarn threw some loops to look like shoe laces.)

Cut a piece no longer than a foot.

Find your middle in the shoe,

both top to bottom and side to side.

From the sole, to edge where sock began, to left and right half of the front side of shoe.

Place Hook Threw 1st 5 sts. Pull your white yarn threw hang from both sides. Make even.

Go the next row up , directly above the last one, and pull thew the crossing thread and repeat this one more time.

You may need to turn the hook, or doll to to get the sts the right way like laces.

You will have 2 X’s tie your bow and cut.

Use a scrap for ear bow and your done 🙂

You are welcome to change this pattern to your own taste.

My Team Foot Ball Scarf

007

I came across a picture  http://www.bonanza.com/booths/Hillealogy/items/79906769  and was inspired  by it to make a scarf.  I finally got around to doing  it. My thought was to make it in team colors.

My Husband is a Bronco’s Fan  so i made this one in Bronco colors. I am a Titan Fan.

I kept the pattern simple, made the foot ball  pattern easy to work in HDC.  Stitched the center part with a blunt needle.

How i did this was clever thinking, took my blunt needle & white yarn put it in the middle from the under side of my footballs in the row with 12 stitches, ran it 2 times from top to bottom ( front to back) of football between 6th stitch on both rows with 12. then slipped it on the under side threw 2 loops(Away from middle) Then across to the other side to make my first crossing stitch and angel it a little , like a zig zag,so your not stitching in the same place to create the 5 stitches across the line you made. Both sides will look the same  🙂 Mine were a little sloppy in places. Tell i got the hang of it. Leave a small tail on both ends and slip it under the brown stitches to the white and run it threw the white loops then back threw the same loops skipping the last loop you went threw so you lock it in place, Cut and stretch it back in place. I like this option, so if i find i did some thing wrong i can go back with ease to find the tail and fix it. 🙂

Worked 3 rows of colors around the foot balls. I didn’t get fancy with the stitches,  I am sure some one out there  can make this even better looking with another stitch used.  I did try a few  but was not happy with the out come.

So if your looking to make a super bowl scarf, or just a scarf to honor your team  here is what you will need  to do.

Double Crochet ~ dc

Worst Weight Yarn ( brown and white) H hook, Blunt needle for sewing. American Terms

One Foot ball measures 5 inches. 3 and ½ inches wide.

To change colors in each of the 2 rows, work the first stitch but do not complete it.(( 3 loops on hook)). Drop brown yarn , pick up white, draw threw the brown loops on hook with white. Leave a tail long enough to work back in as you  work over brown with your white tail across the row. When your at the last white stitch drop white yarn ( like  you did above) , leave a tail to be weaved in and cut. Now work your brown as Normal. You will need to do this 2 times in each Foot Ball.

~First Foot Ball ~

Row 1: chain 3, hdc in 3rd from hook. Hdc in same loop. (2 Hdc )

Row 2: 2 hdc in first stitch, 2 hdc in last stitch. (4 Hdc )

Row 3: 2 hdc in first stitch, hdc next 2, 2 hdc in last stitch. ( 6 Hdc )

Row 4: 2 hdc in first stitch, hdc next 4, 2 hdc in last stitch. (8 Hdc )

~~ROW 5 ~~~First stitch is in Brown, change to white, change back to Brown last Stitch.

Row 5: 2 hdc in first stitch, hdc next 6, 2 hdc in last stitch. (10 Hdc ~8 are in White )

Row 6: 2 hdc in first stitch, hdc next 8, 2 hdc in last stitch. ( 12 Hdc )

Row 7: 2 hdc in first stitch, hdc next 10, 2 hdc in last stitch. ( 14 Hdc )

Row 8: hdc across (14 Hdc )

Row 9: sc2tog the first 2 stitches, hdc next 10, sc2tog in last 2. ( 12 Hdc )

~~ROW10~~~First stitch is in Brown, change to white, change back to Brown last Stitch.

Row 10: sc2tog the first 2 stitches, hdc next 8, sc2tog in last 2. (10 Hdc~ 8 are in White )

Row 11: sc2tog the first 2 stitches, hdc next 6, sc2tog in last 2. (8 Hdc )

Row 12: sc2tog the first 2 stitches, hdc next 4, sc2tog in last 2. ( 6 Hdc )

Row 13: sc2tog the first 2 stitches, hdc next 2, sc2tog in last 2. (4 Hdc )

Row 14: sc2tog the first 2 stitches, sc2tog in last 2. ( 2 Hdc )

Row 15: sc2tog

To start your Second Foot Ball chain 1, turn and hdc in same space, Now Your on Row 1 above put 2 hdc in loops and follow Row 2 down to this and repeat. To length. ( I made 12 foot balls for my scarf. It came out longer than i expected. Adult Size )

They do tend to curl tell you work the 2 other rows. I did like how it puffed a little to make them look more like footballs.

Then  work your  2 colors , pick one to do first, attach to tip of football  chain 3, 2 dc in same space. The chain 3 counts as one dc.  I put about 26 dc around each foot ball, work your way around to the starting chain  slip stitch cut. weave in the end. Start 2nd row  in your next color. Work over the last row in dc  all the way back around and cut.

you can use a 3rd color in hdc and work around  (and or) if you like to Make a different edge a Reverse sc works well too 🙂

That’s it I hope your Fan  loves the Scarf and i would like to say Thank you to the Creator  of the  Football Afghan Lapghan Throw Stadium Blanket.  I did not buy this pattern from  the Creator or Copy it. I was ” only Inspired ”  to make the Scarf  from the picture as i stated in the start. Was not meant to take any thing away from The  Wonderful pattern made by this Very Clever person 🙂

My Latest  thought : If your crafty Put the Super Bowl numbers on there some where. I was thinking  of a  47  hanging from the end or Super Bowl XLVII on it some where, or just the XLVII.

You could give it a personal touch  with just a  ” name” or  even the numbers of the favorite players on each football.?

here is the colors for your Scarf  http://www.thepaperframer.com/TeamColors.php?type=nfl

Bonsai Tree

This Bonsai Tree was a lot of fun and very easy to make. The tricky part was getting it to stand up after adding the leaves. One rock seemed Enough for now.  I hope it leads to more fun Bonsai’s  to come.

stands at 8 inches tall and 5 inches wide.

I wanted some thing to go with my Asian Style stuff in my living room. After making the doll  i kept making more to go with her and i am not done yet 🙂 Can’t seem to stop my self  lol.

i bought a case to put “Sparrow” my Oriental Doll  in.  Next thing i knew i bought a dragon pattern on line  to go with the Doll.

I even made  her some Shoes. hard to see in the picture so  i will show you.

Now i will work on a much smaller Bonsai  for the doll.  As well as an  Orchid plant.

got so excited over this  i may make a vase and scroll to go with it.  maybe even a stand for her in the box.?

my thoughts are spinning at all i could  do with this. Inspiration, every where.  😉

Oriental doll

Sparrow Oriental doll

while i was working on the dark angel , i thought i wanted to work on a doll i have not seen any one make yet. a challenge i yelled!  i must do this i thought.

so i got started , got my  note book out and drew a picture, then gave it thought  lots of it.  let it stew in my head 2 weeks and i think it’s about ready to do.

she is tallest doll so far i have made 😉

she has beads, cherry blossoms, leaves, and  birds.  i must say she turned out just as i wanted.  I worked on this while talking to a good friend on Face book , Christy helped me  see what i needed to make this really come together completely. with out her help it would have not been as nice. ty Again Christy  😉

This small bird, is a pattern i made  for Sparrow from a drawing.

Bird was made in # 10 thread and # 12 thread.  i used a # 7  hook and # 10 hook. to make it as small as i could.

Bird~ don’t chain too loosely or the eye will be too big unless you want that.

ch 8, sl st 2nd ch from hook, in next st ( sc, 3 hdc, ) in the next sc, dc next 3, to last st, ( 3 dc, hdc. in last) work tail next do not cut off.

Tail ~ ch 2, dc, tr, ch 1, tr, dc, ch 2 sl st. cut weave in or tie off, ( if you don’t want to cut off ch3)

Find the 3rd dc on top behind head. Start big wing there.

Big Wing~ ch 7, sl st 2nd from hook, sc 2, hdc 3, sl st ( to back of bird 4th dc,)

ch 2, turn, hdc, ch 2, (3times), last 3 dc (in place of hdc) weave off or cut. Big wing finished

Small Wing ~ (small back wing), ch 6 sl st first 2, sc remaining 3,sl st, turn ,

ch, 2, sc, across, last 2 sl st in place of sc, weave in ends or cut. Small wing finished,  finished bird.

If you would like to add legs stitch them in with thread.

ok there you go. I hope you like it .  tyvm  If you need help with this  little bird let me know.  i will be happy to .  Good Luck and Happy Hooking 😉

      Christmas Tree Angel.

Back in the 90’s  i wanted to make some thing new for my tree.  I found this  poor little crochet angel in the trash and thought  it was neat but  could look better, and had seen better days. So,  with out thinking much i started on this project.

I found the first one i made  a few years ago  sitting around and thought i could do this better if i just tried  so my mission was clear.

With thread i re- worked every thing with out looking back at the pattern i had made. to find  a few differences when i did finally look back well all is well that ends well. turns out it was ok  , and gave me a few thoughts on how i would really like to see this come out.

So far the wings are the hardest part of it. Been a lot of fun and  i have to say the wings turned out just as i wanted them to 😉  i still need to work on the face i fear this part , i don’t want to fail here  so i need to be sure i take the time to do it right and think it threw.

i spent the day yesterday thinking about the dreaded face , while  stitching the wing in place. i could see what i wanted but how to get there?  I thought it would be best to work on the hair next and give the face more time.

Last night i started with worry thinking it’s not going to work. tried 3 ways tell  all the sudden it came to me what  i needed to do  to make this happen. Inspiration struck!  so i raced to  try it and  yes it was a winner.!  i could see my project really going to work and i could see a few things to add as well.  Excited as  Doctor Frankenstein. SHES ALIVE !   hahaha.   rise i say  rise.  lol with one curl  i am almost there. Not .

i have run my tests on the pattern and i am done, stared a dark angel and  other dolls to come. i guess i should just stick to making things i want in my house, rather than things i may not ever sale. ;(

Lisa christmas angel down load pdf

Not long ago i found this video on you tube, it’s the best way to  make the wings if your having trouble. Just forget the wings i have written out and  follow this video for the wings. Keep in mind this is not my video, and it’s in U.K. terms. So when she says make a Treble/ Triple,  you are making a double crochet in U.S.A. terms.

My wings are made in the same way with a crab st/ reverse crochet over the top of the last row.

I hope this helps some that are having trouble with this pattern. I want to Thank a facebook friend ( Laetitia El Haddad) for  making this pattern in worst weight yarn for the top of her tree 2014. She wrote me directly on facebook. I walked her threw the problems she was having and found this video above to be very helpful  to her  explaining  the wings. She showed me the finished Angel on top of her tree. She is much larger in Worst weight yarn, and looks so Beautiful.

This was a silly project i thought of for a tall coffee cup, but put it on a mug i don’t use. Just thought he was too cute to use for now. He is holding a blanket to your cup to keep it warm for you while your not holding it. I can move his head and untie the cover. He was a lot of fun.

i made this pattern in 1999 or so. wrote it on paper , that was before we had a computer 😉 my spiral was full of thoughts to try, since i didn’t see many patterns at the time.
